Field & GOTV Canvasser
Organization: Stand Up Nashville (SUN) Location: Metro Nashville / Davidson County, TN (In-Field) Compensation: $25 - $30.00/hour (Paid weekly) Duration: Mid-September 2026 – November 3, 2026 Hours: 16 hours/week (Three 4-hour shifts, working until dusk; includes weekends)
About the Role
Stand Up Nashville (SUN) is a grassroots organization fighting for racial and economic justice. We are hiring energetic Part-Time Canvassers for our fall nonpartisan Get-Out-The-Vote (GOTV) and issue-advocacy campaign. You will knock on doors in Davidson County to engage working-class residents on critical local issues—like housing security and livable wages—and help them register and make a plan to vote. No prior canvassing experience is required!
Key Responsibilities
Door-to-Door Canvassing: Have nonpartisan, relational conversations about local issues and election participation.
Voter Support: Assist neighbors with voter registration, updating info, and finding polling locations.
Data & Phone Banking: Make follow-up calls and log real-time data using the MiniVAN app on your smartphone.
Safety & Teamwork: Work in assigned buddy pairs, adhere strictly to SUN’s field safety protocols, and attend all paid trainings.
Qualifications & Requirements
Mission Alignment: Dedicated to empowering working-class, BIPOC, and immigrant communities.
Skills: Friendly, active listener who is reliable and adaptable.
Tech & Transport: Must have a working smartphone with a data plan and reliable transportation across Metro Davidson County.
Physical Ability: Comfortable walking outdoors for up to 4 hours in varying weather.
Bonus: Fluency in Spanish, Arabic, or another language is a major plus!
